Our Story

Acklam Apothecary started after years of making our own toiletries and cosmetics for our own family, we began giving them away as gifts to friends. The response was always that the soaps we more moisturising than store-bought, and that our balms were beyond healing for eczema, and dry, chapped skin. We decided to make them available at our local market and now we have brought them to you. 
Our family-run business is based at our small farm in Yorkshire, where we raise our own pasture-fed meat and poultry and we try to live simply and slow. We hope that our products bring you the peace and pleasure that high-quality, real, and true nature can bring.
